Brackley Town’s Youth Team have done the double after winning an enthralling MJPL Cup final 4-3 over North Warwickshire & Hinckley College.
Hosted at Leamington FC, it was North Warwickshire who took an early lead after just three minutes when Matt Allton slotted past a helpless Jordan Collison.
Although initially shocked, Brackley began to create chances before levelling through Olly Patterson on 30 minutes.
Brackley grew in confidence as the half wore on as chances came thick and fast, and they took a deserved lead into the break when Patterson played in Matt Hammond, who lifted the ball over the goalkeeper.
North Warwickshire levelled it up again in the second half before a fine volley from Henry Jackson restored Brackley’s lead.
However, again North Warwickshire equalised, this time through Matt Derry, to take the match into extra-time.
But it was Brackley’s day as they scored the decisive goal five minutes into extra-time when Jackson kept his cool to finish well and clinch the trophy.
