Brackley Town manager Jon Brady said he was thrilled with his team’s “fantastic team performance” in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Boston United.
Goals from Glenn Walker and Steve Diggin sent Saints through to the fourth qualifying round, where they will host fellow Conference North side Barrow AFC.
Brady said: “I thought we played from the front foot from the off. The back four denied space for their front three, we pushed them back and won the ball off the front.
“My midfield won the battle in there and played on top of that - Steve Towers and Brett Solkhon were immense today in their approach to their game.
“Glenn Walker grew into the game and was absolutely amazing. His assist for the second goal - to run from one box to the other, take on three or four and then lay the ball into Steve Diggin - that would be played over and over on Match of the Day. The vision, skill, speed was just amazing ability.”
Brady also lavished praised on his front two, Steve Diggin and Gary Mulligan, and was particularly impressed with their work-rate, adding: “We work on that time and time again. I feel their work-rate has probably been about 70% but they were at 95% today and that was the difference.
“You’re only as good as your front two and they helped us get up the pitch, they created things - Gary had three or four headers that he was unlucky with. It was his best performance in a Brackley shirt by far.
“All over I thought it was a fantastic team performance.”
