Brackley Town boss Jon Brady had issued a rallying call to the club’s fans ahead of the final few weeks of the season.

With just eight games remaining, Saints are in a precarious position in the Vanarama Conference North and Brady is urging fans to get down to St James Park and support the team as they look to avoid being sucked into a relegation dogfight.

He said: “Our fans have been brilliant in making a lot of noise and getting behind the team. This makes a difference and buoys the players.

“Against Chorley on Saturday they were singing from start to finish. On the pitch the players gave their all but we came out on the wrong side of a narrow 1-0 defeat.

“I want to appeal to supporters who may have come along from time to time over the last couple of seasons to get to the remaining games and add your support. This is a critical time for the club and it is going to be a very tight finish to the season.”

Brackley have enjoyed cup success this season, reaching another Hillier Senior Cup final to be played against Peterborough Northern Star at Sixfields Stadium on April 21 at 7.45pm.

Club chairman Francis Oliver added: ”The club has come a long way. We have improved our St James Park stadium to meet the standards for football at this level and above.

“We have a wonderful new facility in our artificial pitch which has been a great addition to the all-year round facilities for football in the town. We have our Development team competing successfully in the Hellenic League and our first team has enjoyed FA Cup success and three seasons at this Conference North level of football.

“We want this to continue. I hope that everybody in the town with an interest in football will get down to our final few home games to lend your support. And we are offering reduced ticket prices by collecting your half-price voucher for the next match at the turnstile to thank our regular fans and encourage new supporters to come along. Free entry also for all U16s accompanied by an adult.”

Brackley’s remaining home games are all Saturday 3pm kick-offs, starting with North Ferriby United on March 21 and followed by Solihull Moors (April 4), Barrow (April 11) and Hednesford Town (April 25).
