Buckingham Athletic Sports & Social Club announced their new sponsorship deal with Lancaster ŠKODA Milton Keynes prior to their friendly against MK Dons last week.

The two-year shirt deal, which covers all three teams, is the biggest the club has ever secured and they are hopeful that it will encourage more local companies to get involved.

Chairman Tony Checkley said: “For clubs at our level any sponsorship is crucial and we are lucky that we have a number of loyal people and companies that continually support the club and remain extremely important to us.

“But securing the partnership with Lancaster ŠKODA is a new step as we hope that this will be a springboard to help us build the football section.

“It costs a substantial amount of money to run a team at this level and if you want to think about moving forward you really need help and sponsorship – and we are really pleased to link up with a national company and hope we can form a long term partnership especially in helping them raise money for the Whizz Kidz charity which fits into our club profile so well.”

A spokesman for Lancaster ŠKODA Milton Keynes commented on the deal: “We are proud to be a main sponsor for Buckingham Athletic.

“We aim to make differences, not only nationally with the Jardine Motor Group and our collaboration with the Whizz Kidz charity, but also locally which is why we wanted to sponsor a local team so that we could really make a difference within the community in Buckinghamshire.

“We are really looking forward to working closely with Buckingham Athletic to support one of our local teams and help raise their profile in this new partnership.”

The club have also announced that the Markham Charitable Trust have sponsored the youth team’s away shirts and footballs. The trust was set up set up in memory of Barry Markham to promote local good causes and to encourage junior sport and get young people playing sport.

The club would like to thank Carolyn Markham and the members of the Markham Trust for their support.
