A brace from Tommy Castle was enough to seal the points for Kidlington over local rivals Ardley United in the Hellenic Premier Division on Saturday.

The visitors took control of the game from the start and were rewarded with a goal after just eight minutes as Castle wrong footed stand-in right-back Harry Brock and fired past goalkeeper Jack Harding.

Although Kidlington were having the better of possession, Ardley managed to work their way into the game with Ricky Johnson, Luke Ingram and Troy Bryan all having chances to level, but the score remained 0-1 at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern with both sides failing to take their chances.

However, Ardley were then reduced to 10 men when left-back Adam Beckett was shown a second yellow card and just three minutes later, Castle bagged his and Kindlington’s second.

Ardley dug deep and were unlucky not to score through Conor Ingram and then Johnson as the visitors held out for victory.

Ardley go to in-form Thame this Saturday.
