MURSLEY United opened up their pre-season campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Stony Stratford Town Reserves.
Manager Mark Hardie had the nucleus of last season’s squad available to him along with a number of new signings.
Although it took a while to gel, the visitors were soon into their stride as they passed the ball well and looked solid at the back.
United got a deserved lead on the half-hour mark when a deep cross from Sam Folland was headed back across goal for new signing, Niall Williams, to volley home.
Mursley made four changes at the break but it didn’t disrupt their rhythm as they continued to play some neat football before doubling their lead.
Substitute Kevin Goodluck made a break down the left before delivering a cross for another new signing, Rommel Hicks, to slot into the net.
Mursley added a third shortly afterwards when Paul Hollingsworth got behind the defence, rounded the keeper and netted from a tight angle after good build-up work.
The visitors created further chances late on but some good goalkeeping kept the South Midlands League Division Two side at bay.
This Saturday, Mursley visit Shillington for another pre-season friendly.
