Orchard begins with win

STEVE Orchard kicked off his time as Buckingham Town manager with a 2-1 win over Old Bradwell United at Manor Fields.

The hosts opened the scoring following a strong start when Graham Anderson set up Joel McCormick to slot home.

Town didn’t take long to double their lead as captain Ieuan Riley fired a second into the top corner after he was played in by McCormick.

Bradwell halved the deficit shortly before half-time when a fine strike gave Buckingham goalkeeper Matt Bines little chance.

But the Robins produced a solid second-half display to hold out for the win and give Orchard a winning start.
