Buckingham Town have bolstered their squad with a number of new signings this week.
Coming into the club are Sean Bishop (dual signed), Dean Bland, Joe Kidd, Tony O’Niell, Joseph O’Reagan, Lewis Smith and Ashley Wadhams, while striker Joel McCormick has left to join fellow UCL Division One side Olney Town.
Manager Chris Robson said: “We’ve had a tough couple of months on the pitch with injuries and players leaving and this has shown in our current league form.
“It was so important before the Christmas period that I brought in some new faces to freshen up the squad and add a bit of extra quality that we have been missing over the past few weeks.
“We have managed to bring in some good players, and a couple of real coups for the club. It was quite tough negotiating with them as we do not have a budget to work with, but they have all agreed to come on board knowing the situation the club is currently in.
“We currently find ourselves in a poor position in the league and it’s important we have the right characters who want to be at the club and fight to take us back up the table.
“We have a lot of games now over the Christmas and New Year period and it will be tough with the cold winter and the poor pitches, so we need players ready to graft before anything instead of fair weather players.
“The players I have brought in will give their all for the shirt and also add that quality which they have. I am really pleased with the business we have done so far and hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can complete the signings of a couple more good players I am currently speaking to at the moment.”
After Wednesday’s game against ON Chenecks was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Buckingham entertain leaders Lutterworth Athletic this Saturday.
