Brackley Town manager Jon Brady has strengthened his squad with the signing of striker Stefan Moore from Conference North rivals Leamington.
Moore, who has 11 goals this season, has been in sparkling form of late and produced an outstanding display against Brackley on New Year’s Day, when he scored twice and set-up another in a 3-1 victory.
Leamington Chairman Jim Scott said: “The board of directors is disappointment at this news and will undoubtedly be mirrored by all Brakes fans. Simply put, Brackley Town made Stefan an offer that he could not and would have been foolish to turn down.
“We did explore all avenues in making a counter proposal, however the reality is that as a club at our present stage of development, we could not come close to matching the terms offered by Brackley.
“Stefan has been a great ambassador for this club since his arrival a year ago and his goals and his overall contribution were the catalyst for us winning the Southern Premier League. He has conducted himself superbly both on and off the field and he was very happy in his time at the club.
“Like many a young man he has family and commitments and sometimes offers are just too good to say no to.”
Going the other way is Danny Newton, who signed for Brackley in October but has struggled to nail down a regular place in the starting XI.
