Wilkin takes positives as Saints make their point
Brackley Town boss Kevin Wilkin took the positives from Saturday's stalemate with AFC Fylde.
Saints stay out of the Vanarama National League relegation zone on goal difference following Saturday’s draw with third-placed Fylde at St James Park.
Wilkin said: “I think we just edged the game. One goal looked as though it would have been enough to win it but didn’t quite get it.
“It was tight game, we had slightly the better chances and their keeper has had to make a couple of saves from free-kicks but those apart, neither keeper had any real saves to make.
“Fylde are where they are because they are organised and keep clean sheets. From our perspective the positives were a clean sheet and Steve Diggin getting some time back on the pitch.
“The players worked very hard and gave everything against a side with play-off aspirations. Over this period we’ve done well apart from the game with Stalybridge and we have to maintain that form till the end of the season.
“The players are disappointed not to get all three points but they are now respecting how tough this league is. The young players have to understand that, especially those who have been released by pro clubs, to further their careers.”
