Buckingham’s Team Fox Racing are set to return to the Champion of Brands Formula Ford 1600 series next weekend, writes James Beckett.
The local team will contest The Bert Ray Memorial Trophy – the third round of the Brands Hatch-based series with Dan Fox driving a PRS 81F car.
Fox drove the PRS car in last year’s Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone, and the car also appeared briefly at Donington Park earlier this year with Brazilian, Adriano Maderios, at the wheel.
Fox has raced in the Champion of Brands in previous years at the wheel of Van Diemen cars, and this will be the first time he has driven the PRS at Brands Hatch. The last time the car ran at Brands Hatch was at the Formula Ford Festival in 1996.
Speaking this week, Fox said: “I am looking forward to racing at Brands Hatch on the Grand Prix Circuit. It is a great track and I hope to have a good run with the PRS.”
Josh Barnett scored victory in the second Champion of Brands race of 2013 last weekend driving a Van Diemen. He defeated Noel Dunne (Ray) and Gaius Ghinn (Van Diemen) around the Kent track’s Grand Prix Circuit.
