FOOTBALL: Brackley Sports Reserves sunk North Bucks League Intermediate Division leaders Stoke Hammond 3-0 to keep up their promotion bid.

Hambidge fired a brace and Delvalle grabbed the other goal for second-placed Sports in the home contest.

Third-placed Great Horwood, only two points adrift of Brackley with six games in hand,trounced basement side Olney 6-1, Dixon netting a treble, Brunning a brace, with Archer also on target.

Mid-table Syresham, 12 points off the leaders with games in hand, outgunned sixth-placed Wicken Sports 4-1 at home.

In the Premier Division, leaders Southcott Village and second-placed Thornborough Athletic both won, the former gaining a 2-1 home victory over Stewkley, while Athletic saw off sixth-placed Great Linford 3-1, Beerman, Parker and Wallace their scorers.

Third-placed MK Wanderers Reserves fell 1-0 at home to Yardley Gobion. Mid-table Grendon Rangers were 2-1 home winners over Wolverton Town, Perna and Ginger the Rangers hitmen. Silverstone were 2-0 winners at Deanshanger Athletic.

Grendon Rangers Reserves continue to lead Division One on goal difference from Stoke Hammond Reserves after a 1-0 success at Westbury. Stoke drew 1-1 with Syresham Reserves. Fifth-placed Potterspury Reserves edged anchor team Twyford United 2-1 away, Jones the Twyford scorer.

Mid-table Charlton & District drew 1-1 at Southcott village but Marsh Gibbon lost 2-1 at home to Deanshanger Athletic Reserves. In Division Two, City Colts Reserves have a two-point lead at the top after hammering Marsh Gibbon Reserves 7-0. Fifth-placed Real Padbury continued their good form with a 2-0 win at second-placed Great Linford Reserves.

University of Buckingham are still in the promotion hunt in fifth spot with games in hand but have a 14-point gap to make up. They trounced Steeple Claydon Reserves 6-1, Roberts netting for Claydon. Great Horwood Reserves were 1-0 winners at Wolverton Town Reserves.

Brackley Sports crashed out of the Interdivisional Trophy quarter-final against Loughton Manor 4-2 after extra time after it was 2-2 on 90 minutes. Whitcombe notched a brace for Loughton.

Potterspury pipped MK Titans 4-3 in the second round of the Premier Division Trophy, Watson, Sheppard, Jones and Willetts the Potterspury scorers.
