Heavy rain leaves waterlogged pitches across region

FOOTBALL: Heavy rain wiped out a large number of league fixtures across the region last Saturday causing waterlogged pitches.

Games postponed in the Hellenic League were Ardley United v Binfield, Bicester Town v Clanfield, Letcombe v Launton Sports.

Premier Division leaders Ardley are without a match this Saturday but weather permitting host Wootton Bassett Town on Tuesday March 1, kick-off 7.45pm. Bicester Town face a tough contest at Division One West leaders Headington Amateurs this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Basement side Launton Sports host Cheltenham Saracens.

Buckingham Town’s UCL Division One home game against Rushden & Higham also fell victim to the weather, along with their Buckingham Charity Cup second leg semi-final against Cogenhoe at Ford Meadow on Tuesday.

Buckingham travel to Northampton Sileby Rangers this Saturday.

Brackley Town’s Zamaretto Premier Division home game against Bedford Town on Tuesday was also postponed due to a rain-soaked pitch.
