Great Horwood notched another comprehensive victory in their final pre-season fixture against E&W Hendred, winning by 181 runs.
Having been put into bat, openers Matt Thatcher (21) and Willet (28) set the platform with a 36-run stand for the first wicket before Stuart Parker and Davies scored freely to boost the run-rate.
Parker retired on 57 from 55 balls while Davies made 51 from just 31 balls before Dale Armitage continued his good form with a quickfire 44 and some lower order hitting from Morrison (17) and Adam Armitage (15no) saw Horwood set an impressive 276 from their 40 overs.
Horwood’s bowlers then tore through the visitors’ top order as Adam (2-25) and Dale (2-17) Armitage reduced them to 28-4 from 10 overs.
The introduction of Morrison (2-19) brought further wickets before Matt Thatcher (1-11) and Neil Taylor (1-17) bowled economically as the visitors finished on 95-8.
On Sunday, Great Horwood IIs claimed a four-wicket win over Simmons.
Bowling first, Horwood dismissed the visitors for just 90 after new signing Gary Ridgway took three wickets and U15 players Will O’Dell and Deran Taylor picked up two apiece.
In reply, Jack Trundell hit 14 and Pete McHenry 18no as Horwood reached the target for the loss of six wickets.
This Saturday, both sides start their OCA league campaigns. The first team visit Charlbury while the IIs host Westbury IIs at Nash Road.
