Buckingham suffered a disappointing 32-12 defeat to Beaconsfield in the Southern Counties North this week.
Two tries, the first for Beaconsfield’s winger after five minutes before Buckingham replied with a line break from Mat Payne moments later, got the game off to a cracking start.
Both sides then exchanged missed penalties before Beaconsfield seized the initiative with two tries in the rest of the first-half.
From the restart, Buckingham won a scrum from which Phil Wright took the ball round the blind side and over the gain line but this was turned over and the ball ended up in Beaconsfield hands for their number 14 to score a fourth try, making it 22-7.
Buckingham did muster a response when Ed Kinman kicked a penalty to touch and from the line-out, the hosts formed a maul that led to Dan Rolfe touching down.
Buckingham applied further pressure but couldn’t add to their tally and Beaconsfield sealed victory with successive unconverted tries in the closing stages.
Buckingham face a big game this week when they visit local rivals Bicester.
