Bicester Athletic Club’s Sportshall team produced a fine display in the second round of the Oxfordshire Sportshall League at the Kidlington & Gosford Leisure Centre.

The U11 boys were one of the standout performers to take overall victory. Thomas Kavanagh, Lucas Williams, Sean Lock and Ellis Griffiths-Brown ran superbly to finish first in the one-lap races. Kavanagh teamed up with George Starkey-Vickers to gain another first place in the standing long jump and then with team-mates Ben Groves, Samuel Worfolk and Michael Cadle, the boys ran to victory in the 4x1 lap replays.

The U11 girls faced stiff opposition but managed to come away with overall second after the quartet of Katie Ford, Erin McDonnell, Abigail D’Silva and Lucy Gardner were victorious in the speed bounce event, while team-mates Georgie Cordy, Amelia Cox, Ruby Silvester and Emilia Sims gained valuable points in their events.

The U13 boys were dominant throughout with JJ Welham, Fergus Jones, Caelan Coney, William Sims and Harvey Attrill in impressive form to take overall victory. The girls’ team, meanwhile, were narrowly pipped by Radley despite the efforts of Orlaith Lyford, Lauren Garside, Holly Griffiths-Brown, Amy Gould, Molly Acton, Maisie Silvester and Holly Hunter.

The two U15 teams also finished second. Connor Wilce made a winning return to take victory in the triple jump with Zak Wilce, Tom Gould and Alex Jack also doing well for the boys, while Olivia Stock was in excellent form as she was triumphant in the standing long jump as her performance along with the efforts of Emma Ford, Yolanda Martin, Jessica Stowell and Rhiannon Penfold led the girls to second.
