Bicester IIIs went down to a heavy 41-0 loss at Chinnor IVs in one of the few sporting fixtures that beat the weather at the weekend.
The blend of youth and experience in the Bicester side failed to prevent a very strong Chinnor team from taking the spoils with four of their six tries coming from fundamental errors by the visitors, whose ball retention, handling and tackling were below-par.
Chinnor were ahead after five minutes when Bicester were turned over and the home side broke, ending with Matt Woodward crossing, quickly followed by Pete Way as the hosts seized control.
Stuart McIntosh bagged Chinnor’s third try after another Bicester error before Alex Wingfield profited from some wayward tackling to score a brace and Dan Chowns added a sixth try to complete an emphatic victory.
Elsewhere, both the first team and the IIs saw their matches postponed.
This weekend Bicester 1st XV are without a fixture but the IIs visit Newbury IIs and the IIIs travel to local rivals Alchester IIIs, while the Colts take on Abingdon on Sunday.
