BICESTER Ladies first team stayed top in Trysports Three Counties Premier One after
beating a strong Wokingham outfit 4-2.

A slow start from the hosts was capitalised on by Wokingham with an opening goal but Bicester levelled through Gina Girvan after Kath Ryan’s skilful run.

However, Wokingham hit Bicester with a series of attacks and deservedly scored to lead 2-1 at half time.

By the second half, Bicester had improved drastically and soon took control.

Ella Weston brought the scores level following the introduction of debutants Ali McGregor and Amy Ola.

A resolute Bicester defence kept Wokingham at bay while the home side’s midfield and attack threatened constantly with Ryan giving Bicester the lead for the first time.

The hosts battled relentlessly to keep possession and a final spell of pressure paid off when Lilla Venning beat to keeper to secure victory.
