Bicester Blue Fins duo Lizzy Rowland and Shelley Radford had the honour of judging the swimming championships at the first Invictus Games last month.
The event was championed by Prince Harry and took place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women from 13 nations took part.
Lizzy from Langford Village and Shelley from Brackey are the highest qualified Bicester Blue Fins judging officials and this is the first international championship they’ve been asked to support.
Lizzy said: “We had an amazing weekend.
“It was quite something to look up and see Prince Harry dining with us, seemingly without his guards, helping himself from the buffet! The games were amazing and I’m proud to have been part of them.”
Shelley added: “The atmosphere was electric. We were buzzing the whole weekend. It was an honour and a privilege to be able to attend, and in a small way help the servicemen and women with their own heroic sporting achievements.”
