BUCKINGHAM Rugby Club completed their pre-season campaign with a comprehensive 62-5 thrashing of Dunstable.
The home side were no match for Buckingham’s ball retention and distribution as well as their superior skill and fitness.
It took just two minutes for the visitors to score with Adam Clarke crossing for the first of 10 tries.
The half developed into a game of slick passing and support play from Buckingham with their speed leaving Dunstable bewildered.
So great was their superiority that Buckingham raced into a 48-0 lead at half time as further tries were scored by Wright, Sawbridge, Hulston, Williams, Andy White, Steve Miller and Mettenheimer with White converting four.
After the break, Dunstable played with more cohesion with Buckingham soaking up the pressure before Miller broke the length of the field and played in Hulston for his second try. They repeated the trick moments later as Chris Stanford this time went over before Dunstable touched down for their first score with the last action of the game.
Buckingham have now won all of their four warm up games and will be confident going into their first game of the season tomorrow away at Tadley.
