Buckingham Rugby Club won their opening warm-up game ahead of the 2012/13 season as they comfortably saw off Oakmedians 22-5.

Work commitments and holidays had limited the Buckingham squad to just 18 players while the hosts had over 30 players ready for action.

Nevertheless, Buckingham were on top throughout with skipper Tom Amos scoring the first try followed by two for Andrew Jackson.

James Smith went over for the fourth try with just one of the four tries converted to give Buckingham a straightforward win.

Coach Alan Lane expressed his satisfaction with what he had seen from his team having had the opportunity to get the cobwebs out of their system.

He was also happy with how his squad had put into practice moves from the training field, as several players produced outstanding performances.

This Saturday, Leicester Forrest are the the visitors for another warm up game, which kicks off at 3pm.
