BUCKINGHAM Snooker Club’s two teams faced each other at the weekend with the Bandits and the Eagles playing out a tense 4-4 draw.
In a cagey match throughout, Rees Carter played Steve Brunning in a closely-fought opening frame that Carter won 70-28.
Dave Tuxford played Carter in the second frame, and was in the lead before Carter laid a very difficult snooker to escape from.
Tuxford took four attempts to eventually escape and hit the red, but Carter could not fully capitalise to give his opponent the frame.
Martin Moors had a close game with Ron Beckley but could not make the most of his chances, losing out on the final pink.
However, Moors made amends in the fourth frame by starting well and making a break of 31.
Iain Ripo responded well to get back into the frame but Moors took the last two reds and colours to the brown to win comfortably.
Steve Bruning was up again for the fifth frame but was just pipped on the black by Iain Ripo. Dave Tuxford played a strong last frame to win and earn Bandits a draw.
