Buckingham RUFC U14s have won the U14 Bucks Cup after they beat Wycombe RFU 17-12 in the final that took place at Drifters RFC in South Bucks.
The 22-strong Buckingham squad, who also reached the final of this competition last year and currently have eight players playing at Bucks County level, edged a tight final having produced an expansive, open performance.
Head coach, Robert Smart, said: “The boys showed a great depth of talent and resolve not to be blown away in the first 10 minutes by a formidable Wycombe forward unit, after going down to an immediate opening score.
“They came back and demonstrated great character to win a hard fought match. We are immensely proud of all our boys, including those unable to travel.
“I think that looking to the future, the quality of Bucks youth rugby looks promising and Buckingham RFU is developing in strength and depth across the years.”
