Fast times recorded in first A5 time-trial

Twenty-four A5 Rangers Cycling Club members took part in the first evening time-trial of the 2013 season.

Despite a bitterly cold return leg of the five-mile event at Silverstone, several fast times were recorded.

Two riders beat the 25mph time of 12.11.47 and 11.49 minutes with Dave Gill just bettering Cameron Foster.

In third place was Enrico Cacciatori (A5) with 12.42, ahead of Roger Foster (12.58) and Gary Guntrip (15.37).

A team from Mercedes GP took part. Jason Lamb, Mark Shepherd and Duncan Elliott recording 13.12, 14.14 and 14.33 respectively.

Other times were: Joseph Wood 13.05, Aaron Westgarth 13.21, Peter Bonnington 13.32, Pete Trotman 13.45, Luke Thomas 14.07, Rob Griffin 14.15, Maxine Filby 14.18, Harry Warner 14.22, Ben Jones 14.34, Murray Kirton 14.57, Derek Moyle15.03, Nick Lawther 15.09, Ricki Goode 15.45, Kyle Kirton 16.33, Liam Barbour 18.04, Mark Armstrong 18.06.

The Go-Ride skills, coaching and racing sessions for six to 18-year-olds, promoted by the club, begin on Friday, April 19 . They are held off-road at Towcester Racecourse and are run by British Cycling qualified coaches.

Meet at the A5 Rangers CC clubrooms on Islington Road, Towcester at 6.45pm. There is no charge for these sessions and the dates are April 19, May 10, May 17, June 1, June 15, June 29, July 12, July 26, August 9 and August 23.
