The Goodwood Motor Circuit hosted another memorable racing event at the weekend when the 74th Members’ Meeting kicked-off the 2016 historic motorsport season in style.

The Lord March-organised event attracted a huge on-track entry of some of the world’s leading historic racing machines, and for two days cars and their drivers entertained a sell-out crowd in a number of races.

The Advertiser & Review region were well-represented at the event with Gary Pearson and James Wood both in action.

Evenley’s RW Racing Services also were present to run a number of cars in the races and demonstrations.

James Wood drove a Triumph Dolomite Sprint in the Gerry Marshall Trophy, sharing duties in the car with former British Touring Car champion, Robb Gravett.

Wood said: “Goodwood is a very special place and everyone wants to race here!

“ It was great to see so many fantastic cars in action and I am sure the 2016 historic season is going to be another great year.

“I was pleased to drive this Triumph, especially as it was with Robb Gravett.”

Goodwood also plays host to its famous Festival of Speed, that takes place in June, while the track’s nostalgia-fest, The Revival, is in September.
