Highest peak challenge

CLIMBING: Intrepid Buckingham Swans Ladies Rugby Club captain Chantal Trigg has flown to Africa to take part in a sponsored climb of its highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.

She hopes to complete the ascent of the 15,000 ft summit this weekend before returning home on Tuesday.

Chantal is raising funds for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children through sport. As part of her trip she was planning to visit a project in the slums of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, where thousands of children can escape their hard life to play in football leagues organised by the Mathare Youth Sports Association.Chantal is making a video diary of her expedition and will show it to club members on her return. She said donations were welcome through her web page www.justgiving.com/chan to enable a Christmas gift to be given to a child who has taken part in a sport project with Laureus’ help.
