JASON Fox has won a silver medal at the Junior Japan Karate Federation European Championships in Paris.
The 17-year-old, who competes for Tairyoku Shotokan Karate Club (TSKC), which is based across Buckinghamshire, was runner-up in the Kata category.
A total of 500 competitors from 12 different countries took part with England winning three medals.
Jason said: “I was extremely nervous about competitions in general but to have performed in this competition and get a silver medal is the highlight of my sporting career so far. Gold next.”
He has been training with TSKC since he was five-years-old and has been in the England squad for six years.
Head coach Gary Stewart added: “That is so well deserved. Jason did extremely well and we are all very proud of him.”
