WHITTLEBURY Park’s Brian Dipple has mirrored the success that Team GB experienced at the London 2012 Olympics by completing his own golfing marathon in record time.

Brian, from Buckingham, took on the challenge of playing all four nine-hole loops at Whittlebury to raise money for the Captains charity, Arthritis Care.

He completed 26 miles and 385 yards of golf in a time of 10 hours 45 minutes, completing three laps on Yellow, three laps of Red, three laps of Blue and four laps of White.

Not only did he complete his task in a fantastic time, but he scored at average of 16 Stableford points for every nine holes and raised over £800 for the charity.

He said afterwards: “I just wanted to do my bit for the Captains’ Charity and the marathon distance, in Olympic year seemed a good challenge.

“I have had great support from the members and they all think I am mad!”

Club Captain Rob Watson added: “This is a fantastic feat and we are all very proud of Brian’s achievements.

“The money raised has boosted our fundraising efforts funds for this important charity and makes our goal of raising as much money as possible a little nearer”.
