Eddie O’Gorman from the Chiltern Harriers Club was the overall winner of Brackley & District Running Club’s annual 10km F1 Chicken Run.

From the race village set up at the park in the High Street, the runners took to the road up the High Street turning to run through Turweston and around Turweston airfield before returning back through the village and back to the park in Brackley.

O’Gorman won the race in a new course record of 34.24 minutes, with Sarah Bland from Stratford Upon Avon AC the first lady home in 42.22 minutes.

A strong contingent from Ampthill & Flitwick Flyers enabled them to return home with the Team Prize and The Midnight Foxes were the first team back from a non-affiliated running club.

Rory Knight won the trophy for the first U18 runner to complete the course and Max Tindle picked up the prize for the first NN13 runner back.

Meanwhile, Brackley Running Club member Darren Long took part in the SDW100 race over the weekend.

This a 100-mile race from Winchester to Eastbourne over the South Downs Way
