Buckingham kept the pressure on Aylesbury in the race for second place and the Southern Counties North promotion play-off spot thanks to an emphatic 43-14 victory at Drifters.
The visitors began on top and it didn’t take long for Henry Sweeney to off-load to Pat Ockendon, who touched down under the posts with Jak Cluness slotting over a simple conversion.
Phil Wright ensured there would be no let up from Buckingham as he dotted down moments later, Cluness again converting, before a strong driving maul culminated in a try for Ockendon.
Cluness added the extras before fleet-footed youngsters Josh Graham and Oli Crompton showcased their footwork to continue the Buckingham dominance.
It was at this point when Drifters finally woke up and applied pressure on the Buckingham line, however the visitors defended solidly and kept their hosts at bay until half-time.
Drifters did manage to go over twice after the restart but Ockendon sealed his hat-trick and then added another to take his tally to four while Seth Williams also dotted down to wrap up a convincing win.
Buckingham remain third, five points adrift of Aylesbury.
