GOLD MEDALLIST: 100 metre swimmer Duncan Goodhew will be giving staff and pupils a treat when he visits St Mary’s Catholic School on Wednesday next week.

The Olympian, who won the 100 metre breaststroke at the 1980 Olympic Games, is an ambassador for Premier Sport.

He will host an assembly in the morning where children will get to see his gold medal and the torch he carried ahead of this year’s games.

He said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be visiting the school to meet staff, parents and pupils on the week the Olympic torch passes through Bicester. I’m encouraged the Premier Sport team will be working with the school to create future Olympic stars.”
