RUNNING: Gordon Lee made a worthwhile trip from Leicester to take victory in a closely contested Silson Joggers Silverstone 10k last week.

With only a light breeze to contend with fast times were on the cards and Lee duly crossed the line in a swift 31min 14sec to set a new event record in the M40 age category.

Three Silson Joggers made their way to Warwickshire last Sunday to compete in the Shakespeare marathon and half-marathon. Paul King was fastest of the pair competing in the half, finishing in 1:37:29, while Liz Thomas finished in 2:17:39. Silson’s only competitor in the marathon was Rosie Moffat, completing the course in 5:15:08.
