Strike doesn’t stop town’s runners

running: Two of Brackley and District Running Club’s finest took the trip to Lisbon in Portugal to take part in the 25th Lisbon marathon.

Tony Chapman and Andy Crofts, who have been competing in the Brackley club championship, set off on what was a journey dogged with delays because of the Spanish air traffic controllers’ strike.

With fair weather for most of the race they both pulled in some great times. Chapman came in at 3.46.42 closely followed by Crofts in 3.46.43.
