TOWCESTER Ladies 1st team conceded two goals in the final minutes to draw 2-2 with Harborne.
Despite taking a squad of only 11 players, Towcester produced some superb hockey and dominated the match for the majority but they couldn’t hold on for a deserved victory.
Some determined defending from Mel Linnel, Janet Graham and goalkeeper Sue Willers prevented the home side from scoring before Towcester scored twice.
The first goal came from Jo Walker and that was followed by Helen Parr’s strike.
However, despite their hard-work, Towcester failed to hang on as Harborne forced them to settle for a draw with two late goals, which gave Towcester their first points of the season.
This weekend, Towcester face Olton at home, starting at 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, the second team were beaten 3-0 by Bridgenorth and the thirds suffered a 4-0 loss to Earls Barton.
The third team produced a valiant performance and showed plenty of determination but the experience of Earls Barton proved the difference.
