Towcester ladies first team struck late to earn a point after a 4-4 thriller with Worcester on Saturday.

A slow start to the match allowed the visitors to take the lead, but Tows began to move the ball with more fluency and they were rewarded with three quick goals.

Emily Kelly brought Tows level when she deflected home a Laura Abbot shot before Lisa Prince’s double seemingly put the hosts in command but two Worcester goals saw the teams go into the interval all-square.

Again Towcester had quiet spell and Worcester took advantage to retake the lead, only for Christina Piccianti to secure a late point for Tows. Melanie Linnel was named Player of the Match.

Tows face a local derby against Northampton Saints this week.

Towcester IIIs, meanwhile, thrashed Kettering IIIs 7-0. Player of the Match, captain and hat-trick hero Louise Rhodes was in superb form to lead her team to victory, with Natasha Day scoring a brace and Laura Moran and Natasha Shahin bagging a goal apiece.
