Winslow moved off the bottom of the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Championship table with a 23-5 triumph over Faringdon.
In a tight first half, the two sides went in to the break level at 5-5 after only Luke Holdom was able to power through the home side’s defence.
However, Winslow started the second half firing on all cylinders and took full advantage of a tiring Faringdon side. Captain Adam Clark gave the visitors the lead with two penalties before a well-executed try by winger Marc Betts gave Winslow a sizeable cushion.
Winslow’s momentum was threatened for a moment with the yellow carding of Darren Topping for persistently having his hands in the ruck but Winslow again pushed on as Robin Gurnett smashed through on the left wing to score an unconverted try in the last play of the game.
