A total of 102 men took part in Buckingham Golf Club’s October medal and it was Adrian Wood who topped Division One with a nett 68.
Michael Schofield was unlucky to miss out on countback, while Kevin Easton took third spot just one stroke back. Division Two was headed by junior Darren Bett, who shot a superb nett 63, four strokes clear of Peter Stanford in second and a further shot ahead of Rob Johnson.
Tim Brown took the honours in Division Three after shooting an impressive nett 64. Second was David Folkes with Steve Ette third.
In the ladies stableford, Bernie Howe topped the lot having racked up 33 points, one clear of Sue Holwell. Moira Williams finished third on 30 points, while youngsters Karen Robinson and Margot Sharp finished on 29 and 28 points respectively.
In the midweek stableford, Bill McNicholl led the way home with 41 points. That put him just one point clear of three men – David Roberts, Bob Berry and Des Lovett – with Roberts taking second place on countback. At the weekend, round 21 of the Dr Stableford Cup proved particularly close with three men finishing on 41 points; Derek Purves took the honours from John Field and Julian Flynn.
