Towcester’s Michael Moyers returned to the cockpit of a Formula Ford 1600 last week at Silverstone for the first time since he finished fifth in the Grand Final of the track’s Walter Hayes Trophy 12 months ago.
The 2013 event Walter Hayes Trophy takes place next weekend and Moyers will once again race an Australian-built Spectrum car for the Kevin Mills Racing team.
He said: “It was great to get back in a Formula Ford again and begin the build-up to the Walter Hayes Trophy. The car felt good and I hope I can continue progress next week during the two test days that take place ahead of the race. My aim is to win the Walter Hayes – it has long been my ambition and I hope 2013 will be my year.”
