TOWCESTER’S Michael Moyers has confirmed that he will line-up in next month’s Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone in a car run by Kevin Mills Racing.
The former event finalist will drive for the West Country-based team that won the 2011 WHT with Adrian Campfield.
An excited Moyers said: “I am very happy to have concluded a deal to race with Kevin Mills Racing.
“They are one of the best known and well-respected teams in Formula Ford racing and to have the opportunity to race for them is one I relish.
“The Walter Hayes Trophy is one of the biggest events on the national racing calendar and it is important to be on the grid and in with a chance of winning the title overall.”
This year marks the 12th-running of the Walter Hayes Trophy, an event that attracts competitors to Silverstone from around the globe.
Teams and drivers from the United States, Canada, Australia and mainland Europe will all be lining-up to compete in the event that consists of knock-out stages before the Grand Finalists take to the track.
Meanwhile, the winner of Saturday’s Martin Donnelly Trophy in Northern Ireland, Ivor McCullough, has confirmed he is heading to Silverstone for the WHT as is Ben Norton, who won Sunday’s Castle Combe Carnival.
Sheshon Racing are set to launch their Walter Hayes Trophy project next Wednesday at East Claydon School.
