Rain wipes out Brackley opener

IN Division One, Buckingham beat Great Tew by two wickets reaching 160-8 to overturn Tew’s 156-9. Their next opponents will be Leighton Buzzard who also got off to a winning start with a three wicket win over Cumnor, chasing down 248.

Bicester & North Oxford suffered an opening day defeat at the hands of Cropredy. The Division Three outfit could only amass 152, although their opponents lost seven wickets chasing the modest total down.

In Division Four, Buckingham 2nds scored 217-7 in their match against Great Tew 2nds, who made 193-6.

Brackley’s Division Five encounter with Horspath 2nd was abandoned.

The Division Seven match between Bicester & North Oxford 2nds and Buckingham 3rds resulted in a convincing win for Buckingham.

Bicester were skittled for just 102 and the visitors knocked off the target for just five wickets.

Brackley 2nds game against Leighton Buzzard 3rds also fell foul of the weather.

Bicester & North Oxford 3rds crashed to 114 all out in their Division Ten match against Thame 3rds. The home side struggled to knock off the runs but eventually won by three wickets.
