A sparkling 123 from Ell Parish helped Towcestrians record their second straight victory in the South Northants Cricket League at Syresham A.

Opting to bat first on a damp pitch, Parish put on 108 in the first 17 overs with Rob Jones, who then departed for a well-constructed 43.

Parish continued to bat beautifully as he dispatched the Syresham bowlers to all corners of the ground in a superb innings which contained 11 fours and three sixes.

Tom Sheppard and Ollie Drage were both dismissed cheaply but skipper Roger Wilson (27no) joined Parish and the two traded blows to put on 61 for the last 10 overs and post a strong total of 223-3.

Syresham skipper Johnnie Evans was the pick of the bowlers, taking all three wickets.

In reply, Syresham began well as Dan Hopkins (44) and Mark Evans (29) top scored but Sheppard picked up where he left off against Gawcott, producing a fine spell of three wickets for 37 runs in 10 overs.

Dan Frayne provided good support and picked up two wickets of his own, while Man of the Match Parish (2-9) completed a fantastic individual performance as Syresham were bowled out for 138.

Elsewhere in the SNCL, Evenley also maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the 2015 season with a crushing 101-run win over Bodicote in the Premier Division.

Harry brooker (42) and Michael Peyton-Bruhl (38) top scored in Evenley’s 207-9 before Peyton-Bruhl and Anthony Romaine picked up three wickets apiece to dismiss the visitors for just 106.

Also in the Premier Division, Nathan Archer’s six wickets inspired Syresham to their first win of 2015 as they beat Byfield by five wickets.
