Syresham have gone top of the South Northants Cricket League Premier Division following a 28-win over title rivals Middleton Cheney.
Richard Wyness (61) and Mark Mounsden (43) top-scored in Syresham’s final total of 212 all out before Nathan Archer (3-32) restricted Middleton to 184-7.
With fellow title contenders Byfield also beaten, Syresham go top of the table by one point after 10 games. Byfield (162) were beaten by Evenley (237-4) after a fine all-round display from Anthony Romaine (82 and 2-22).
This weekend, Syresham are away at Marston St Lawrence, Byfield host Castlethorpe and Middleton Cheney go to Charlton.
In Division One, Matt Yuill scored a stunning 184 as Greens Norton (240) extended their lead at the top with a thrilling one-run victory over Radway (239-7), while Sam Holden (3-9) and Harry Williams (62) starred for Evenley A in their win over Byfield A.
In Division Two, Hinton-in-the-Hedges (162-9) have closed the gap on leaders Priors following a 26-run victory over Grange Park (136-8), and Silverstone are up to second in Division Three as Jenny Williams took 5-26 in their eight-wicket win against Woodford Halse A, with Bodicote A top of the table following their win at Middleton Cheney A.
In Division Four, Brackley (157-3) beat Preston Bissett (154-6) and Evenley B (68-8) scraped past Maids Moreton (66) as James Connor took 4-17, but Thornborough (60) lost at Wardington (61-3).
