FOOTBALL: Some highscoring games were a feature of last Saturday’s North Bucks League action, Premier Division leaders Thornborough Athletic setting the trend with a 6-0 home whitewash of Silverstone.

Parker netted a five-timer for the hosts, with Davis the other scorer, as Athletic drew five points clear of the chasing pack.

Several teams have games in hand including second-placed MK Wanderers Reserves, who accounted for basement side Buckingham Town Reserves 2-0.

Fourth-placed Potterspury went down 2-1 at home to sixth-placed Brackley Sports, who are 10 points in arrears of the leaders with three games in hand.

Mid-table Grendon Rangers were 2-0 winners at Deanshanger Athletic, while Yardley Gobion fought out a 3-3 home draw with fifth-placed Great Linford, Barrie notching a brace for the hosts.

In the Intermediate Division, tabletoppers Brackley Sports Reserves continued their fine form with a 4-0 home demolition of Steeple Claydon, Atkins bagging a brace, with Delvalle and Gardner the other scorers. Second-placed Stoke Hammond Wanderers thumped Hanslope 6-0.

Syresham went down 6-3 to fourth-placed Bow Brickhill, while Wicken Sports sunk City Colts 4-1, Pendleton (2) and Gentle (2) notching doubles apiece. In Division One Twyford United’s disappointing season continued with a 2-0 home defeat against Marsh Gibbon. Charlton & District were 7-1 winners at Woughton, Scott notching a hat-trick for the visitors, with Kennedy (2), Knight and Cox the other scorers.

Basement side Westbury drew 1-1 against Bletchley Bridge, Laidler the Westbury hitman.Fourth-placed Potterspury Reserves also shared the honours 3-3 at fellow highfliers Bow Brickhill Reserves.

In Division Two, Real Padbury moved upto fourth spot with a 3-0 home win over Wolverton Town Reserves, Martin (2) and Chappell firing home. Steeple Claydon Reserves lost 2-1 at Great Linford Reserves, while Marsh Gibbon Reserves edged Great Horwood Reserves 2-1, Goddard and Smith the scorers.

Silverstone Reserves fell 2-0 at home to Yardley Gobion Reserves. Leaders City Colts Reserves beat Wing Village 1-0.

Great Horwood, who are well in contention for league honours, saw off Celtic MK 1-0 in the Intermediate Division Trophy semi-final, Darren Sirrett firing home.

The Division One Trophy semi-final brought a narrow 3-2 win for Grendon Rangers Reserves over Stoke Hammond Wanderers Reserves.
