Towcester youngster, Jack Didcock, is set to compete in the Kingsway Insurance Heart of England Stage Rally Championship this season.

The 19-year-old will drive a 1.6-litre Peugeot 205 GTi prepared and maintained by his father’s Daventry based engineering firm, DMD Motorsport Engineering, and will drive the Peugeot throughout the eight-event series, that starts with the Weston Park-based AGBO Stages in March, with Chris Williams as his co-driver.

Williams has tasted recent success by being crowned as the BTRDA and Welsh Production Cup Champion last season and he has regularly competed in the British Rally Championship.

Didcock said: “This year is going to be a big challenge. Stage Rallying is very competitive and experience counts. That’s where my co-driver will help. Chris has over 100 events under his belt with experience at all levels within the sport. He’s done half the events in the championship previously and knows the unique features which some of the events can throw at you already.

“My primary aim is to reach the finish of every event, to learn as much possible and gain experience. I don’t know how competitive we’ll be in the overall championship, but we’ll be trying our best.”
