THOUSANDS of people and narrow boats descended on Blisworth at the weekend.
Jan Andrews, one of the organisers of the Blisworth Canal Festival said all the car parks were full and the many attractions and trade boats did a roaring trade.
As well as providing a platform for many charities including the RNLI and the Warks and Northants Air Ambulance the event also helped to raise up to £4,000 for the improvement of the local canal environment and in particular a woodland walk.
Mrs Andrews said with attractions spread around the whole village visitors enjoyed exploring the area and discovering village craftsman.
Village resident Colin Gardner said: “It was brilliant to see so much colour.
“There were so many trade boats, it was like the high street on water.”
