TICKETS are selling fast for Buckingham’s big music happening next month.
The Event, at Buckingham Town Hall on Saturday, November 12, is being organised by local music enthusiast Sharon Lewis.
Buckingham born and bred, Sharon said the idea grew out of a ‘Turning 50’ school reunion last November for former pupils of the Buckingham School.
She said: “I run a business called Picture This, and one of the things we do is make music videos for bands.
“All the bands are known in some way locally.
“They’re all Buckingham bands and they’re popular and well supported. Most of the people in the bands went to school here.”
The four bands playing at The Event are Late 4 Dinner, Rock The Kasbah, Ronni Sings and Trashcan Rocket.
Sharon, who turns 50 in April, said organising a music event had been on her list of ‘49 things to before before turning 50’.
And she said so far arrangements had gone smoothly.
“It’s been quite straightforward, knowing the bands and having them as friends, “ she said.
“I know it’s going to be successful, we’ve got such a good following.”
Of the 200 tickets, only 30 or 40 remain unsold.
“We sold 60 to 80 in the first week,” said Sharon. “It’s been mainly word of mouth and friends of friends.”
And she thanked Graeme Murray of GM Tyres, on Buckingham Industrial Estate, and Steve Taylor of Pegasus Catering, for helping sell tickets.
Tickets cost £14 each from Sharon on 07961 822336 or GM Tyres on 01280 813189.
