Now is the time to think about your entry for the 2012 Buckingham Festival of Music and Drama.

The organisers are looking for entrants and the closing date is October 8 - only a few weeks away.

The 40th annual festival is to be held on November 16 and 17 and is, as always, a great opportunity to perform in front of a friendly, local audience, get tips and guidance from a professional adjudicator and maybe win a medal.

Music classes range from solo to group performances - for singing, piano, wind and string instruments.

Drama classes include spoken monologues, poetry, play readings and duologues.

Events are taking place at the Chandos Road Buildings at the University of Buckingham, The Royal Latin School and the Radcliffe Centre.

Music adjudicators are Christopher Field, Paul Harris, Kaye Tucker, David Kirby-Ashmore and David Patrick.

Speech and drama adjudicators are Tish Nicholl and Norma Redfearn

You can get all the information you need and download the syllabus and entry forms from the festival’s website www.buckinghamfestival.co.uk.
