Big name to headline Fringe festival

A BIG name comedian has been lined up to be the headline act at the newly created Buckingham Fringe.

Iranian born comic Shappi Khorsandi has been booked to appear at the event which has been set up to replace one of the week’s of the Buckingham Festival Fortnight.

Ms Khorsandi has been pencilled in to appear at the Buckingham Community Centre, on June 18.

Other acts booked for the fringe include the Oxford Fiddlers and a production of Pinocchio for children.

Chairman of the town council’s events committee, Robin Stuchbury, said the committee had always intended to have a big name at the event and Ms Khorsandi would be coming to town as part of a national tour.
