Classic musical paves the way for a sizzling summer season

A LANDMARK production of South Pacific, direct from a sell-out season at London’s Barbican, paves the way for Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s summer season.

The breathtaking Lincoln Center Theater production reinvented Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical.

With a cast and live orchestra of 50, including Samantha Womack, Matthew Cammelle, Alex Ferns and Daniel Koek, the international landmark production runs from Tuesday, May 15 to Saturday, May 26.

Considered by many to be one of the finest musicals ever written, the score includes well-known songs including Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair and There Is Nothin’ Like a Dame.

TV illusionist Derren Brown will stun audiences with his remarkable critically acclaimed production Svengali, combining magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship in order to seemingly predict and control human behaviour, from May 28 to June 2.

Hilarious musical comedy Girls Night follows five lifelong friends celebrating the past on a karaoke night packed with girlie anthems including Dancing Queen, I Will Survive and It’s Raining Men. Starring real-life sisters Gillian and Kim Taylforth, the show runs from June 12 to 16.

The first major revival for 40 years of Dandy Dick starrs Olivier Award-winner Patricia Hodge and Olivier award nominee Nicholas Le Prevost, from July 17 to 21.

Christopher Luscombe directs a solid-gold cast of comic actors in this must-see comedy telling the hilarious story of the Very Reverend Augustin Jedd who preaches regularly against the evils of the Turf, until a visit from his tearaway sister leads him to risk all at the races, with ensuing mayhem.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy... Live! reunites the legendary radio and TV cast for just two performances on July 9 and 10, led by Simon Jones as Arthur Dent.

An exciting collaboration between English National Ballet and Flawless brings Against Time, a thrilling fusion of street dance, acrobatics and ballet, on June 30 and July 1.
