Duck race on the River Great Ouse, from the University of Buckingham bridge, August 24, at 3pm, followed by a barbecue and music at the New Inn, from 8pm, in aid of Garden House Hospice in Letchworth.


Bandjam, August 24, 1pm to 10pm, town centre, free music event featuring young local musicians and bands, organised by Sean Allen, Bandjam and sponsored by Buckingham Town Council.


Auction of promises, August 30, Meadow Valley Farm, from 7pm, to raise money for the restoration of St Mary’s Church roof, pre-purchased tickets £1.50 (£2 on the night) adults and children over 12, £1 children and senior citizens, £5 for families.


September 4, free board games morning at Buckingham Library, first Thursday of the month, 10am to 11.30am, tea and biscuits.
